The Silica Sand and Horticulture Team had a great night at the recent Garden Industry Manufacturer’s Association (GIMA) Awards at Celtic Manor Resort, Newport. This highlight of the garden trade calendar was a sparkling event as usual, and provided a fabulous way to network, see which innovative products had won their categories and of course, have some fun after a challenging year.
Rory Bremmer was the evening’s host and provided much hilarity with topical jokes and commentary. He also helped the audience raise some funds for the evening’s good cause, the well-deserving Greenfingers Charity, that provide gardens for life-limited children and their families to share some quality time at the hospices they are resident in.
Over 17 categories were represented with 10 companies in the running. But the coveted GIMA Sword of Excellence (an actual sword!) was the most envied award of the night and was this year won by Westland.
GIMA Director, Vicky Nuttall said of the event: “What a night we have had! Every year, our judging panel and I are in awe of the level of innovation and development that is brought to market; and 2022 certainly hasn’t disappointed! Congratulations to all our winners, and a thank you to every that entered, attended, judged or sponsored the 2022 GIMA Awards. Your support is greatly appreciated.”
