This Christmas, Bathgate companies Bathgate Silica Sand and Arclid Transport will ensure Christmas celebrations have the true spirit of the season by giving back and providing gifts and donations to charity.
A number of activities are happening to support local children’s charities; The Toy Appeal and Visyon, a children’s mental health charity in Congleton.
Events planned include a fundraising day on the 13th December that includes a fish and chip lunch and Christmas Concert with music from Sandbach charity The Foden’s Band. At this event, toys collected from employees will be presented to The Toy Appeal charity who provide sacks of Christmas gifts for disadvantaged children, regardless of race or religion, in the North West area.
A prize raffle is also planned and the proceeds from this will go to the Visyon charity who provide mental health support to children, young people and their families in the East Cheshire area.
The companies are supporting activities by giving a day’s holiday as the top prize for the raffle which will also include donations from suppliers and employees. They are also providing refreshments for the Christmas Concert and offering a special fish and chip lunch in return for donations.
A fundraising spokesperson enthused, “Bathgate is such a family-oriented company and at this time of year especially, we wanted to get together to give to others less fortunate. We’re hoping the activities will be well supported and we can raise plenty of donations and some much-needed funds for both these deserving charities.”
