The Bathgate Silica Sand and Arclid Transport fundraising activities for Christmas 2023 finish with hundreds of pounds donated to charity by employees.
The fundraising activities culminated with the Grand Prize raffle drawn on 18th December which raised over £500 for Visyon, a mental health charity in Congleton that helps young people and their families find the emotional and practical support they need. There were over 40 prizes on offer donated by employees and suppliers with the top prize being a day’s holiday each donated to the Arclid Transport and Bathgate Silica Sand entrants by the company.
The delighted winner of the holiday for Arclid Transport was Serena Hartshorn who enthused “It was lovely to raise funds for such a deserving charity but I never dreamed I’d win! I’m so happy.”
The toy appeal on behalf of The Toy Appeal in Cheshire was also very well supported with over eight large sacks full of toys worth hundreds of pounds donated by Bathgate and Arclid Transport employees. These were presented to Dee from the charity on the afternoon of the Bathgate Christmas Concert. The charity have already provided sacks of gifts to over 12,000 children in need this year alone and we are delighted with the generosity of our employees and proud to be part of this wonderful charity’s efforts to ensure needy children can have a visit from Santa on Christmas Day.
The events have raised close to a thousand pounds for charity and we’d like to offer a great big thank you to everyone who contributed in any way to the activities, with a special thanks to our fundraising elves who made it all such a success.
It certainly reminded us all of the true spirit of Christmas which is alive and well here at Bathgate.
